This course aims to:

Introduce and develop students floristry skills using a variety of vessels from home combined with different mechanics. Knowlege of different summer flowers and specific conditioning techniques will be covered.

 

Additional Costs:

 

Each week students will receive an email prior to the session providing learning points from the previous session and a list of things to bring the following week. You will be required to bring flowers and foliage and containers from home. All wires, biofoam, chickenwire , floristry tapes and other sundries are included in the initial payment. Its just having things to practice with not the best quality, can be flowers and foliage from your garden or countryside.

 

This course aims to:

 

Develop your confidence in producing arrangements at home independantly. It will develop your floristry skills using floristry tools and techniques.

 

The course will cover :

 

Focus on using English flowers through design. We will explore current styles and trends in floristry using environmentally friendly methods. Tablescaping will be part of the programme also floristry for summer events such as barbeques and garden parties.

We will have a focus on what can be gathered from the garden and hedgerows to create unique arrangements underpinned by the principles and elements of design. We will use a variety of mechanics and include floristry for cakes , corsages and hand tieds in current styles.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
