This course is suitable for Intermediate level that have experience of floristry or have been to floristry classes for several months. Following our work on linear designs we will look at lines and implied lines in floristry as well as luminosity(impact of light in floral designs). Spring floristry adheres to linear designs due to the form of Spring Flowers. We will create a modern design using floristry test tubes .

 Additional Costs

Students are expected to purchase their own flowers and greenery for each week. They can be from the garden , countryside or shop bought. The focus is on having something to practice with rather than expensive flowers using containers and vases from home. Bio foam , chicken wire, tape , wires, floristry glue and other materials will be provided in class. You may bring your own secateurs or borrow class ones. 

This course aims to :

Build on existing floristry skills and expand knowledge through the Principles and Elements of design. This course does not have accreditation however we will cover many parts of the level two in floristry.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
