This course is suitable for anyone who has not done Floristry before or who has attended lessons for a short period of time. 

This course aims to :

Focus on spring Floristry, handling flowers with soft stems and contemporary design. We will focus on the principles of design of space, colour and form. Designs will be created for the floristry calendar including valentines, Mother’s Day and Easter.  We will be designing a living spring wreath. There will also be a focus on contemporary linear design using a variety of Floristry tools and techniques. 

Additional Costs:

You will need to bring flowers and greenery to each lesson from your garden, countryside and other sources. Flowers are required but don’t need to be expensive they are just to be practiced with. You will receive a weekly email prior to class outlining what type of container to bring, greenery and flowers. A photo is usually provided with an example of the design and a summary of learning points from the previous week.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
