Making Beautiful Beads NEW

Making beads 3

Start date: 26th Feb 2025

Time: 18:30 - 20:30

Cost: £78

Day: Wednesday

Duration: 5 weeks

Tutor: Sarah Hallworth

This 5 week course includes lovely and simple ideas for you to create your own beads and jewellery from scratch.

It requires good dexterity and the use of hand tools, painting and clay work.

Week One

Using sheets of recycled paper, you will paint and cut strips to roll into beads. Once varnished these are durable, unique and colourful. You can then choose from a selection of salvaged beads and beautiful bright cords, to make your beads up into a fabulous necklace and earring set.

Week Three

Selecting from a large range of wooden and bamboo base shapes, you will paint and varnish 2 to 3 pairs of gorgeous earrings or pendants.  A range of source ideas, patterns, pictures and ideas will be provided for inspiration.

Weeks 4 and 5

Make your own unique, shaped beads from lightweight clay. Create spheres, drops, little birds, anything you’d love. Then paint and decorate using metallic paints, embossing and other methods for another fab set of necklace and earrings.

Sarah will be on hand throughout to provide guidance, help your ideas become a reality and make up your jewellery sets.

This fab course includes all required tools and materials but will be restricted to a small group of ten students, so book soon.
