This class starts on the 10th September and there will be no class on the 17th September

This course is for: beginners to intermediary learners

The course aims to develop printmaking skills, use of colour, design and line.

The course will cover linocut printing techniques including keyblock and transverse cutting, chine colle. There will be an opportunity to develop a knowledge of expressive use of mark making, colour and composition.

The course is suitable both for beginners and those with experience of printmaking who wish to refine their knowledge and improve the quality of their printing. The course will offer a comprehensive starting point for linocut printmaking.

Student’s expectations about the course will be assessed through individual student discussions at the start of the course.

All materials included - this includes 2 pieces of lino. any more can be purchased in class

Shaeron Caton Rose

I am an artist working mainly in Printmaking and Installation and have exhibited across Yorkshire for about 30 years. I have a degree and an MA in Printmaking and have a wide print knowledge including linocut, collagraph, drypoint, silkscreen, lithograph, and textiles printing. I have taught painting, drawing and print to adults for many years in Leeds, Bradford and Knaresborough. I work part time as a Workshop Leader in Printmaking at Henshaw’s Arts & Crafts Centre and as a Social Artist, delivering community art projects in Bradford and Leeds. I also run Art & Wellbeing retreats with fellow artist Linda Baines as part of ReCreate. I write a monthly online art meditation for Leeds Methodist Mission and have also written a book Soul Art which will be published by Wild Goose Publications in 2021.
