This course is suitable for beginners who have no previous floristry experience. Please bring a pair of secateurs if you have some. We will follow current trends with a focus on current trends of the season using environmentally friendly methods.

This course aims to:

Develop your floristry skills from handling and conditioning floristry materials to creating designs focussing on shape, texture , colour and use of different materials such as different types of wire. We will make a autumnal wreath suitable for outside.

Additional costs:

Students are expected to purchase their own flowers and greenery each week . Seasonal foliage and flowers are suitable and can be sourced from the garden and countryside where possible. Please bring a pair of secateurs if you have some from home. Wires, tape, ribbons, chicken wire and other floristry items will be provided  the cost of the course . Each week you will receive an email with learning points from the previous week and a list of what to bring in the next class.

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine Hadfield

Elaine has an honours degree in Primary Teaching and a Diploma in floristry from Askham Bryan College graded distinction. After working for a few years in a popular local florists shop learning all aspects of floristry she taught classes to both adults and children as well as successfully working as a freelance florist on weddings , events and working with a variety of florists. Wedding cake speciality work was undertaken designing floral decorations for a local company. Elaine is very excited about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with students at Rossett School.
